Hollister Art League History

The Hollister Art League was organized in 1963 by a group of local artists. The first meetings were held at the Hollister High School cafeteria.  Fay Kennedy was the first president of organization and was instrumental in establishing a Fine Arts Department at the San Benito County Fair. Past events have included the annual juried Spring Art Show, the Kinship Center Wine Tasting Event and summer paints outs.  Scholarships have been awarded every year since its inception and many recipients are still in the area.
